Civic Accomplishments

  • Saw the completion of the new facility. 50 skilled nursing beds, 24 residential care assisted living units and 24 assisted living apartments. Hospital grade ventilations systems.
  • Establishment of the Rolling Hills Community Forest and Natural Area in collaboration with the Land Conservation Department.
  • Transitioned to In-House Therapy Services encompassing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, projected to generate approximately $598,000 in revenue for the facility in 2026.
  • Expanding youth engagement through the Sherriff Cadet Program.
  • Upgrading our technology to better service the public with quick responses through the Next Generation 911 system
  • Coordinated Services Team (CST) Initiative
  • Strengthen Law Enforcement Technology and Infrastructure
  • Food and Safety Inspection Agency (2024) – Health Department was officially authorized to become an “Agent of the State” for food and safety inspections. Instrumental in the work prior to this position going forward to the whole county board.
  • Restoring pre-pandemic health programs. Monitoring communicable diseases of COVID-19, STIs and foodborne illnesses.
  • Worked with county to focus on: mental health and environmental issues.
  • Launch of Public Residential Disposal in March 2026. Monroe County Landfill is officially open to the general public for residential waste.
  • Phase 5 Landfill Expansion. Navigated the DNR regulatory hurdles to complete the first cell of the Phase 5 Expansion in the Town of Ridgeville.
  • Efficiency and Equipment Innovation – use of high compression technology extended the life of the landfill. This saves the taxpayers millions of dollars in premature construction costs.
  • Established a timeline for phase 6 and working to avoid and “exporting” crises that currently affect neighboring counties.
